Workplace Justice Houston HIWJC
|
Workers with a case of workplace injustice are required to participate in a Workers Rights Workshop to learn about their rights, to generate discussion on the broader question of why wage theft, discrimination, and injuries continue, and also to formally open a case by communicating the full story and establishing a plan of action. Workshops are held every other Monday at 6 p.m., as well as on other occasions at community events and gatherings. |

Houston Interfaith Worker Justice believes workers are uniquely equipped to organize and devise solutions to the workplace issues they face. For this reason, we see our role as guides, equipping workers with information about their legal and human rights and assisting them as they navigate the agencies, resources, and services available to workers.
In order to best serve workers' needs, Houston Interfaith Worker Justice works closely with trusted attorneys seeking legal advice and providing cross-referrals. A regularly scheduled legal clinic is crucial to the effectiveness of the work of HIWJ and to the broader goal of promoting and enforcing workers rights in the Houston area. We primarily work with attorneys in the following areas of law: Wage and Hour, Discrimination, Personal Injury, Worker's Compensation, and Immigration.
